Raised on a farm in the Okanagan, Evan is a grounded and pragmatic lawyer who understands small town life. Evan completed his articles with the Ministry of Attorney General in Vancouver including a secondment with the Provincial Crown in Cranbrook. Prior to articling Evan has worked in private practice at one of the leading law firms in Victoria, under a sole practitioner’s unbundled law firm, and with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program.
Evan started Evan Benson Law because he wanted to connect with the local Cranbrook community and beyond. A strong advocate for individually tailored solutions, Evan strives to get to know each client on a personal level to better provide legal and wraparound assistance to suit their needs. Legal problems are seldom simply as they appear on paper and Evan understands the need to dive deeper into the issue to provide superior support to his clients.
When not practicing law or assisting clients, Evan is an avid supporter and practitioner of musical arts. He regularly ballroom dances and tries to make time to play his trumpet. Additionally, he works with the Ryder Foundation for Critical Thinking to support critical thinking education and scholarship in the K-12 educational system.
